ACCOMMODATION
Your bursary or your National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) bursary might pay your student room rent. NSFAS pays for student rooms on campus and selected off-campus accommodation. You do not need to pay a rental deposit as NSFAS will pay it for you.

1. HOW TO GET RESIDENCY ACCOMMODATION (ON CAMPUS)

-
Complete the ACCOMMODATION section on the university application form
-
Pay a deposit
-
If your application is not successful, your deposit is refunded to you (University of Johannesburg keeps 10% as administrative cost)

2. HOW TO FIND A ROOM OFF CAMPUS

-
Try to find a room close to your campus (within walking distance)
-
Check if it is NSFAS-approved
-
Visit the place and check the security and space before you sign for it
-
If it is suitable, move quickly to secure the room or you’ll be left with poor choices!
